A Prof Petra Staige

Associate Professor in the School of Psychology and Deputy Director of the Centre for Drug Use, Addictive and Anti-social behaviour (CEDAAR), Deakin University

Petra Staiger has a B.Sc (Hons) and a Ph.D (School of Medicine, University of Melbourne) and is a Senior Clinical Academic within the School of Psychology at Deakin University. She is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Drug Use, Addictive and Anti-social Behaviour Research at Deakin University. She has contributed both nationally and internationally to the clinical and research field of addiction for the last 30 years. Petra has worked with a range of community partners both in the service system as well as in state and commonwealth government departments. Her research work consists of a carefully developed mix of theoretical/experimental work which informs our understanding of the mechanisms underlying substance misuse as well as clinical trials, informing knowledge of best practise in the area of treatment. Over the last year she has specialised in the digital health area and is Director of the International Society for Research into Internet Interventions.
